How it works

Each policy or bill is tagged against the topics below. On each relevant topic it gets a signal from −2 (he'd hate it) to +2 (he'd love it), based on Donald Trump's publicly stated positions. The signals are weighted, summed and squashed onto a 0–100 Trump-o-Meter where 50 means total indifference.

The same lens is applied to every party. A high score is not a compliment and a low score is not an insult — it's a measurement of one man's tastes, and you can decide for yourself what that's worth.

Policy summaries are written to be neutral and each one links to its source. If something's out of date or wrong, the data lives in plain JSON files in the research/ folder.
