Extra $3 billion a year for health
What it actually does
The Greens' fiscal plan adds $3 billion to health in each of the next four Budgets, which the party says totals $30 billion over the period, for hospitals, primary and community care, a workforce plan and safe nurse staffing. The plan is funded by new taxes and higher debt, with a surplus a year later than Treasury forecasts.

Budget 2024 income tax cuts and landlord interest deductibility

Remove the ETS charge from fuel
NZ First would abolish the Emissions Trading Scheme charge on fuel over the next term, which it says added about 12 cents a litre to petrol and 14 cents to diesel over the past year. The party says the ETS took $850 million from consumers and businesses for carbon credits in that period.
Cut spending and foreign aid back to 2017 levels
ACT's fiscal plan would return non-welfare spending to 2017 levels (adjusted for inflation and growth), cut the annual operating allowance from $2.4b to $2b, reduce foreign aid to 2017 levels (excluding aid to Ukraine) and abolish 'demographic' ministries. ACT says net core Crown debt would be $12.4b lower than forecast; health, education, defence, police and children's services are exempt.
